Author Lisa Kuznak introduced me to Massive Hassle, which dredged up memories of The Cosmic Trigger from Fort Worth, TX.
In the early-2010s, bands like The Sword represented a new wave in ‘70s-era stoner rock replete with dual leads, droning licks, and of course long hair with inexplicable chops. Tight, flared jeans were a must again, but a Trans-Am was optional (it was post-recession times, after all).
The Cosmic Trigger was short-lived and the stoniest of the stoner rock but they never really got their due, mirroring the under-appreciated North Texas folk bands of the ‘70s that were forgotten to time in the shadow of their Austin counterparts (see: Ray Wylie Hubbard).

Bandcamps for each band are linked in their respective names above, where available.
